I'm actually a Multi-Sport person, doing Mountain-Running, Rock Climbing, Road Cycling, as well as doing a lot of hiking with my Wife and Kids. Which means I'm very aware of other Interest Groups , inkl. the Hunter und Forester Groups. Unfortunately it's not these Groups that get to decide what's going to change or not. It tends to be the "Once-a-Year Sunday Driver/Walker who go home and tell stories about being run over by a nasty Biker ;-). I tend to keep my head down and be nice to everyone and have had few problems ..... but then I don't ride on a Sunday Afternoon :-) Cheers !

Sitting up here in Germany (Black Forest) I've always been jealous of the Swiss and there openness towards Biking. What's being proposed is a step in the direction of the narrow-mindedness present here ! Definitely a step in the wrong direction. You only have to ask who would go to the Black Forest to go biking ? No one ! 'cause it's illigal. Thx. Good Luck to the Bernese, they already have problems getting the Tourists to come because of the very expensive Swiss Franc !

It could be worse :-( Here in this part of Germany ( South-West - Badem-Würtemberg), it's even illegal to ride your bike on a trail narrower than 2 meters :-( . That means we're nearly always riding illegally ... and believe me, there are enough people here to tell you that everytime you go out. So building something doesn't even come into the equation :-(.

I had a bash at Colin a little while ago about riding the Alpspitz. But I'm not going to do it this time. Amazing Video !! It doesn't do justice though to just how exposed some of those top sections are ! A "Get-off" is absolutely no option ! And as to getting up early to avoid the Hikers ... yeah , it's the only way to do it here in Germany. Especially on a Saturday morning when they're all washing their cars :-) !

I'm amazed at this decision ! 4X is, together with BMX, probably the most exciting sport to watch for the General (non biking) Public !! The UCI ar total Idiots and I'm ashamed of Pat McQuaid as a fellow Irishman and Road Racer .... It's time the Gravity Scene spilt from the UCI - Downhill is never going to be an Olympic Event so who gives a f#ck about IOC affiliation !
